Success Story: Content that goes on and on and on

15 Mar

I love sharing stories that validate a concept that I’m trying to get across. This is an example of how content keeps marketing for you, even when you’re not.

Ammin, of MakeupByAmmin, launched her blog back in October and has been diligently blogging away since. She specializes in bridal makeup but is always experimenting and trying new looks on different people.

After each makeup session, she will blog about the look and will share the before and after shot of her model.  Once complete, she will  post a link to the entry on her Facebook profile.  She will also share the post on the page of her client or send it to them; which in most cases results in the model posting it on their Facebook page (since they want to show off their awesome look with all their friends! )

Three great things Ammin is doing here:

  • Creating content that showcases her work. By taking pictures and describing the looks she does, potential customers who find and visit her site get a feel for her style and get more insight into her as a makeup artist.
  • Positioning herself as an expert: Talking about makeup and trends, she is positioning herself as someone who keeps up, follows and knows about what is going in the industry.
  • Sharing and spreading her content– allowing her network and her customers’ network see her work and generate referrals.

And the result?

On more than one occasion, just through the act of having her work shared on Facebook, she has had people contact, request and refer her services. And remember, she’s only just getting started!

Do the work, blog it, share it and then let it market for you!

On and on and on..
